Classic Holidays has recently acquired the Shearwater Country Club in Tasmania.
Beginning July 1, Shearwater will come under Classic’s centralised reservations and accounting services. The ‘Apple Isle’ destination is comprised of 49 units and 30 hectares of landscaped gardens, private golf and tennis courts, an indoor heated pool, a games room, gymnasium, sauna, solarium, spa pool and restaurant.
Classic Holidays Chief Operating Officer Carole Smith says the new property addition is a chance for the company to respond to travelers’ increased interest in the region: “Our members have always shown a lot of interest in travelling to Tasmania, which was named fourth in the world’s top ten regions to visit in 2015 by Lonely Planet – so it’s great to be able to provide that opportunity.”
