American Express Offers Discount Calling Plans to Travelers

July 13, 2006 By: Joe Pike Travel Agent

Beginning this month, travelers who book an American Express Vacations trip—either through the American Express Travel web site or by calling an American Express Travel agent—will receive a global voicemail and discount calling plan with 10 free minutes of call time. The calling plan features a unique, toll-free voicemail account with an interactive voice menu, allowing travelers to check incoming messages from friends and family for free. This service also allows travelers to make calls from any American Express Vacations destination for up to 70 percent off local rates. When travelers add a minimum of $20 onto their account, they will receive an additional $5 worth of free minutes. Along with saving money, the voicemail system also helps keep travelers informed. Through this system, American Express Vacations can communicate emergency messages to travelers, including important travel updates and advisories such as re-booking options or evacuation instructions in the event of hurricanes or other unforeseen disasters. This offer is available exclusively through American Express Vacations, the private-label vacation brand of American Express Travel. To book a vacation with AEV, visit [www.AmericanExpressVacations.com] or call (800) AXP-TRIP to speak with an American Express travel agent.
