Cruise.com Launches Mobile App

smartphoneCruise.com, a subsidiary of Omega World Travel, Inc.  reports the launch of a new mobile app for both iPhone and Android users. The free app is designed to put cruise-related information at the user’s fingertips, Cruise.com says and is available for download in the iPhone App Store and in the Android Marketplace. It can also be downloaded at www.cruise.com.

Cruise.com says its new mobile app offers a variety of features that cruise enthusiasts can access including options to help them book and prepare for their cruise. People who have booked with Cruise.com will also have the ability to save information specific to the cruise that they have booked to their phone.

“An app should be more than just incorporating what is already available on a website, said Jeanne Wyndrum, senior vice president of Cruise.com. “A mobile app should include functionality that is specific to the user and should make that information easy to access by the simple click of a button. Our new mobile app is designed to incorporate the entire cruise experience from researching a cruise, to booking a cruise, to preparing for their cruise and getting to the cruise. ”

In addition to the ability to book a cruise and find cruise deals, users will be able to access information about all of the cruise ships, including ship profiles, deck plans, dining information and public areas. The app also includes Cruise Tips, FAQs, and packing lists.

Guests who have booked with Cruise.com will be able to automatically save their specific cruise departure to their phone to quickly and easily access all of the features contained in the app including a Cruise Countdown and departure port information. The departure port information provides directions to the port, allows users to map the port on their phone and learn local information about their departure port.

Users will also have the ability to connect with Cruise.com via phone, email, Facebook and Twitter. The new app will also link to Cruise.com’s website and blog.

“We have designed our app to add an additional level of engagement with our customers and cruise enthusiasts and to provide them with the tools to make cruising and preparing for a cruise easy and accessible in one location,” said Cruise.com’s President, Anthony Hamawy.

Omega World Travel has been ranked as the  fourth largest travel management company in the U.S.
