Flight Centre USA and Sabre Partner

handshakeFC USA Inc, Flight Centre’s U.S. subsidiary, reports it has renewed its long-standing technology partnership with Sabre for an additional five years. The move follows continued growth and profitability in the US, FC USA says.

Sabre will serve as Flight Centre USA’s primary technology partner, with FCm Travel Solutions, Liberty Travel, GOGO Vacations among the brands continuing to use a broad range of Sabre Red travel technology services.

Flight Centre USA is also the pilot customer for a new Sabre Red product that offers intelligent fare distribution and integration into the Sabre Red Workspace for easy shopping and booking by consultants, Sabre says.

“Sabre’s ongoing commitment to enhance its technology services dovetails with our goal of helping corporations and individuals get the most value from their travel spend,” said Dean Smith, president of the Flight Centre USA Group.

“As we continue to grow our business, we need a progressive technology partner that can help us stay ahead of web, mobile and social media trends. The Sabre Red Workspace enhancements are proving popular with our consultants, who find it intuitive and very easy to shop, book and manage travel," Smith said.

Under the agreement, Flight Centre USA will continue to use Sabre to shop, book and manage travel content from among more than 400 airlines, more than 100,000 hotels, 24 car rental brands and 14 cruise lines.

Jay Jones, senior vice president Sabre Travel Network, Americas said: “Flight Centre really embraces new technology, and that makes them the perfect partner to test new products and services. We understand their strategies, and work with them to find new opportunities to deliver a different kind of service for their customers."

Flight Centre USA employs over 1,850 people throughout the country and includes the Liberty Travel retail network; wholesalers GOGO Vacations and Worldwide Traveler;  Corporate travel brands FCm Travel Solutions, Corporate Traveler, Stage & Screen, CiEvents and Travel Associates;  Global product procurement business Flight Centre Global Product (FCGP) North; and a number of travel-related websites, including flightcenter.com, discountcruises.com and hotcaribbeandeals.com. Together, these businesses are expected to generate total transaction value in the order of $1.8 billion this year, the company said.
