Frontier Signs Merchandising Agreement with Travelport

Travelport reports a new multi-year, full content agreement with Frontier Airlines that makes all of its fares and seat inventory available to Travelport-connected travel agents globally.  Frontier will also subscribe to Travelport’s merchandising products, enabling the distribution of its Branded Fares and all ancillary options, including STRETCH seating, through Travelport-connected agents.

Through the agreement, Frontier will make its published fares and seat inventory – including fares available on its website, and through its reservation offices and third parties – available to all Travelport-connected travel agents and subscribers globally, including all offline travel agencies and online agencies booking through Travelport.

As part of the agreement, Frontier will over time offer Travelport-connected travel agents the option of selling their passengers upgrades to Frontier Airlines’ STRETCH seating as well as the airline’s Branded Fares.

STRETCH seating upgrades will become available through the standard desktop and workflow processes, followed by Branded Fares. This capability provides multiple opportunities for agents to offer upgrades to STRETCH seating while maintaining the value of GDS booking and processing efficiency that agencies have come to expect from Travelport.

Travelport will integrate these merchandising capabilities into the Travelport Universal Desktop, making it easier for Travelport-connected travel agents around the world to transact this premium coach seat capability within their standard workflow.

“This agreement provides Frontier with a cost-effective solution to distribute our unique customer experience and future ancillary options through Travelport subscribers in a flexible, innovative manner,” said Daniel Shurz, vice president of Strategy and Planning for Frontier Airlines. “Frontier is focused on seeking enhanced distribution solutions and effective partners like Travelport that can provide benefit for Frontier and most importantly, our customers.”

“We’re delighted to provide Travelport-connected travel agents with full content from Frontier Airlines and the ability to offer their customers Frontier’s innovative STRETCH seating and Branded Fares,” said Dan Westbrook, Travelport’s vice president, Supplier Development for the Americas.

“Our agreement with Frontier is further evidence that Travelport is ready, willing and able to deliver technology that enables our travel agency subscribers to drive additional revenue for our airline partners. It also enables our subscribers to shop, book and manage travel efficiently and to provide travelers with clear, complete and transparent information about their travel options and any related fees,” Westbrook said.
