Funjet Vacations Offers New Flexible Transfers

March 21, 2012 By: George Dooley Travel Agent

Travel agents will gain more flexibility when booking transfers, Funjet Vacations reports, with a new policy that allows agents to choose before they start their booking to have transfers as optional or included in the base price.

The new policy follows the October 2011 decision by Funjet Vacations to modify its booking engine to make transfers optional - allowing for component pricing and the ability to better match price points and earn up to 15 percent commission.

After this change, travel agents asked for the flexibility to start the booking process with either transfers included in base pricing or optional, Funjet says.

The change is easy for agents to see directly within the booking engine, Funjet says. For Mexico and Caribbean vacations where they automatically want the transfers included, they can now select the package type on both hotel only and package that includes “+ transfers Mex/Car” in the name.

This will automatically include transfers in the base pricing. For optional transfers agents should choose “Flight + Hotel Package” or “Hotel Only” in the package type.

With optional transfers, agents can quote base package or hotel-only pricing with an optional transfer add-on. Transfers are automatically added to the shopping cart but can easily be removed or changed. This option is available for all destinations.

Additionally, travel agents will be able to upgrade to non-stop transfers while making their bookings to get their clients to their resorts quicker.

Agents who choose optional transfers also have the ability to give their clients a VIP experience with an upgrade to a private transfer.  This option is available for clients traveling to Cancun and Riviera Maya. Private transfer vehicles accommodate one to 13 passengers and start at a basic EuroVan vehicle price of $100 per vehicle, Funjet says.

Agents will continue to be able to include transfers in the price. With this option, transfers are built into the package and cannot be removed. Non-stop transfer upgrades are available with this option as well, Funjet says.
