Marriott Renews Agreement With Sabre

handshakeSabre reports that Marriott International, Inc. has signed a long-term distribution agreement extension. Sabre-connected travel agents will have access to room rates and availability to the more than 3,800 Marriott properties, across 18 distinctive brands in 72 countries and territories, Sabre says.

“Sabre’s broad reach to travelers around the world has boosted our sales efforts,” said Shafiq Khan, Marriott’s senior vice president, e-Commerce.  “We look forward to exploring new and different ways to use Sabre’s technology and products, especially to better target and customize offers for our guests.”

The Sabre global distribution system (GDS) now connects 370,000 travel agents to more than 400 airlines, 125,000 hotels, 275 car rental brands, more than 50 rail providers, 14 cruise lines and other global travel suppliers. More than 300 million people purchase airline tickets $100 billion of travel is purchased through this channel annually, Sabre says.
