Sabre and Turkish Airlines Partner

turkish airlinesSabre reports it has renewed a multi-year technology agreement with Turkish Airlines to market its products and services in the Sabre global distribution system.

The deal means more than 400,000 travel agencies connected to Sabre in more than 130 countries will be guaranteed access to the airline’s seats and fare classes.

Sabre and the airline said they plan to work together to make Turkish Airlines’ comprehensive range of content in fares, schedules and inventory, available in the Sabre global distribution system.

The move follow's Sabre's deal with American Airlines on the newly combined airline's single reservation system. Because Sabre is the platform currently being used at American Airlines, it should minimize disruption for the maximum number of people and systems by bolstering employee readiness, speeding up implementation and improving customer responsiveness throughout the integration, American said.

Harald Eisenaecher, senior vice president, Sabre EMEA, said: “This deal is great news for travel agents because Turkish Airlines is one of the world’s fastest growing carriers flying to an increasing number of key business and leisure travel destinations."

Sabre recently filed for an initial public offering. By going public Reuters estimates Sabre could raise as much as $100 million.
