Thai Airways Names New General Manager

Thai Airways USA has named Sutsveta Svetasobhana as its new general manager to lead the airline’s operations in the U.S. market. Svetasobhana brings 20 years of senior management experience in the airline industry and will represent Thai in  Central and South America as well as the U.S.

Svetasobhana officially assumed the office on September 1, taking over from Manit Chaisukumara, who retired this month.  Svetasobhana is a seasoned manager and marketing professional with experience across the world. Prior to his new post he served in Korea and in Hong Kong where he oversaw all sales and marketing.

 “This is a new market for me, but one that I am excited to experience and learn about. My goal is to continue to provide the legendary service of Thai Airways to all our customers in America,” Svetasobhana said.

Svetasobhana also announced that beginning December 1, Thai Airways will resume daily, nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Bangkok. Passengers will now be able to fly any day of the week. The Thai Airways web site has also been redesigned.

Svetasobhana will be based in Los Angeles.
