New Restaurant Opens at Hotel Okura Amsterdam

Today, Hotel Okura Amsterdam will be opening its fourth restaurant: Serre Restaurant, inspired by Ciel Bleu. The new restaurant is meant to acquaint a wider with the essence of Ciel Bleu’s cuisine. The restaurant will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Marc van der Tang, former sous chef of the Ciel Bleu restaurant, will be chef de cuisine at Serre Restaurant. A selection of Ciel Bleu’s signature dishes from the past years will be presented in a new form. The menu will contain classic as well as more contemporary dishes, making for a truly international culinary offering.

Serre Restaurant features a modern interior design, allowing guests to enjoy their food in a relaxed setting. Nice Touches: The restaurant has a semi-open kitchen and a spacious terrace, where guests have a view of the Amstel channel from their lounge seats.

The London architectural firm of RPW was entrusted with the design and execution of Serre Restaurant. The key design features of the restaurant include an internally lit porcelain chandelier that undulates above the central dining area and an impressive wine display that serves as a backdrop to the restaurant.

The restaurant’s signature dish will be Serre’s Bento box, a lunch box that contains seafood, meat and vegetable dishes that guests can enjoy within 50 minutes, including dessert.

The restaurant will be open daily from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. Reservations can be made by emailing [email protected] or by phone at 01-20-6787-450.

The formal opening of Serre Restaurant will take place later this year to coincide with the start of the terrace season.
