Greg Bernd to Retire After Nearly 30 Years With Classic Vacations

greg berndClassic Vacations announced Friday that Greg Bernd, vice-chairman of industry relations, will be retiring from Classic Vacations at the end of this calendar year, after 29 distinguished years with the company.

Dave Ferran, who was recently promoted to head of sales, will lead the nationwide sales team.

“It has truly been a tremendous ride," said Bernd in a written release. "I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to work with some of the most talented individuals in the travel industry, both internally and externally. The organization has been through many changes over the years and I can personally say the company is poised for immense, continued success."

Bernd joined Classic in 1984. Over his 29 year tenure he was promoted to director of national accounts and subsequently to vice president of sales. In 2009 he became co-president of Classic and was responsible for driving and executing sales strategies for the company. He said he is going to take some well-deserved time off to spend time with family and pursue personal interests.

"He was instrumental in building Classic’s travel agent business and consortia relationships. His passion for the business and dedication to the company is evident in the success of Classic today.”
