Travel Agent has learned that AAA will be releasing a study on July 19 that focuses on girlfriend getaways. As we have chronicled in both our Travel Agent and Home-Based Travel Agent magazines, this is a popular trend because women say they want to escape the pressures and responsibilities of their personal and professional lives together. The report will include reasons why women want to take vacations without their significant others, the most popular kinds of girlfriend getaways, the percentage of women who have taken a getaway and the percentage who plan to take one soon, types of trips (bachelorette parties, birthday celebrations, etc.), the top difficulties in planning a girlfriend getaway plus many other demographics about the women on these trips.
