Happy Vacations has added New Zealand to its South Pacific roster and will begin a phased launch of Australia choices by the summer, says Rick Garrett, company president. He says Happy finds New Zealand and all of the South Pacific interesting because they provide a way to offset the more negative trends it is seeing in the mass markets in which it has made its living selling. The company has issued a 92-page brochure with details on hotels, lodges and commissionable activities. Retailers who call the reservations line at 800-877-4277 are able to route themselves to reservations staff trained in a particular destination, including New Zealand.
