Alaska Airlines Unveils Salmon Sweepstakes

As salmon begin to return to Alaska's Copper River, Alaska Airlines has introduced a Copper River Salmon Sweepstakes. There's nothing fishy about this offer, though, as sweepstakes winners will net Copper River Salmon-themed prizes. Twenty winners will each receive 20 pounds of fresh Copper River Salmon filets from Prime Select Seafoods delivered to their door by Alaska Air Cargo's GoldStreak service. The grand-prize winner will receive an all-inclusive Alaskan fishing adventure for four hosted by the Alaskan Wilderness Outfitting Company in Cordova, Alaska, the home of the Copper River Salmon run. During 2005, Alaska Airlines transported more than 30 million pounds of seafood from Alaska to markets in the contiguous U.S., Mexico and Canada. In fact, in October 2005 Alaska Airlines debuted the "Salmon-Thirty-Salmon," a Boeing 737-400 aircraft painted with the image of an Alaska king salmon. Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members and members of the general public can enter the Copper River Salmon Sweepstakes through April 28 on the airline's Web site, [www.alaskaair.com].
