Cruise Lines Introduce New Commissionable Luggage Services

More cruise lines are looking to lighten traveler loads and reward travel agents by doing so. SeaDream Yacht Club and Princess Cruises have deployed new luggage services, which allow guests to travel without their luggage and find it awaiting them once they reach their staterooms. Princess Luggage Valet will be available for travelers on European voyages, beginning aboard Emerald Princess on May 7, Grand Princess May 14, Star Princess May 22 and Royal Princess June 1. Pricing begins at $90 per bag and is handled through DHL. Meanwhile, SeaDream's new Dream Luggage Express service, with prices ranging from $705 for a Caribbean voyage, up to $1,565 for the Mediterranean (estimated pricing based on two suitcases shipped roundtrip weighing approximately 50 pounds each), is being done in partnership with Luggage Express in Boca Raton, FL. To use the service, travel agents should direct their clients to [www.seadream.com] where there is a link that will walk them through the process. Agents who sell the service to their clients will receive a 10 percent commission.
