Marriott to Manage New Hong Kong Airport Hotel

Marriott International will manage a new 1,000-room hotel at the Hong Kong International Airport. The first phase of the hotel, comprising 658 rooms, is scheduled to open in the second half of 2008. The Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel will be part of SkyCity, a mixed-use complex planned by the Hong Kong Airport Authority adjacent to the terminal. It will also be home to AsiaWorld-Expo, an exhibition center and arena that opened late last year; SkyPlaza, with retail, entertainment and office space; SkyPier, with ferry service to Macau and other Pearl River Delta locations; and a nine-hole golf course. The hotel will be built on the waterfront, and will be a short drive from Hong Kong Disneyland and a 25-minute express train ride from Hong Kong's central business district. It will be Marriott's fifth property in Hong Kong.
