Audi's Silvercar Offers Incentives to Partner With Travel Agents

Silvercar, a car rental and shared mobility company currently being acquired by Audi, has announced a set of incentives aimed at introducing travel agents and their clients to Silvercar's premium airport car-rental business. While Silvercar has previously worked with various professionals in the travel industry, this effort represents the first major push for the mobility company to deepen its ties with travel agents specifically, the company said.

Beginning in June of this year, Silvercar will offer a number of benefits for travel agents and their clients:

  • Agents will be rewarded with double commission totaling 12 percent of revenue for complete bookings between June 1, 2017 and January 31, 2018
  • For personal use, travel agents will receive a special rate of $49 in all locations except Manhattan and Brooklyn (book by August 31, 2017, drive by December 31, 2017)
  • A landing page just for travel professionals will go live on June 1, 2017
  • Silvercar is launching their first-ever marketing campaign targeting travel professionals this spring, and will also have a presence at upcoming industry conferences to engage directly with travel agents

In a written release, Silvercar Chief Marketing Officer Amber Quist, said, "Silvercar is philosophically aligned with the modern travel agent because both are committed to providing the modern traveler with a high-touch and hassle-free experience. Our hope is to introduce more travel professionals to Silvercar so they’re aware of the difference it can make for their most discerning clients.”

The push by Silvercar to engage with the travel professional community follows the announcement earlier this year that Audi intends to fully acquire Silvercar to deepen cooperation on innovative mobility offerings in the U.S.
