Southwest Airlines Vacations Adds Hawaii Product

Southwest Airlines Vacations has added Hawaii to its roster of destinations. It has developed air-inclusive packages for travelers heading to Oahu and Maui, land-only packages on Kauai, and effective Aug. 25, air-inclusive packages to the Big Island. Although Southwest itself does not fly to Hawaii, it is able to provide air-inclusive bundles because of its codeshare relationship with ATA, which does have lift to Hawaii. Travelers can choose single-island or multiple-island packages. At this point, travelers on codeshare flights will be issued paper tickets, but development is underway that will enable them to print boarding passes before they head to the airport; Southwest says plans call for this option to be available next year.
