U.S. Airways, America West Merge Fare Classes

U.S. Airways and America West Airlines are continuing their consolidation effort, announcing they will publish a new, joint list of fare classes Sept 1. The move will affect travel beginning Sept. 20, and forces agents to cancel segments for travel on or after that date. "Travel agents will need to take action and accept the schedule change and cancel old segments to ensure that clients have a smooth experience with web check-in, kiosk check-in, automated first class upgrades and seat assignments," the airline wrote in a release to the media. U.S. Airways and America West recently merged to create the fifth largest domestic airline.
