United Airlines Debuts Boeing 777-300ER With New Polaris Business Class

United Airlines hit a milestone recently when the airline took delivery of its first 777-300ER from Boeing in Everett, Washington. The airline’s newest aircraft offers a variety of new features, including the all-new United Polaris business class seats.

United Polaris members will benefit from Premier Access premium travel services, free checked baggage and a variety of in-flight entertainment options, like United Private Screenings, United Wi-Fi and a host of in-flight magazines.  On board services and amenities include Saks Fifth Avenue bedding, including a choice of two blankets. Additional Sak’s amenities include a cooling gel memory foam pillow and mattress cushions, to ensure comfort on guests in-flight beds.

In collaboration with chefs from The Trotter Project, a non-profit organization which mentors youths in the culinary arts, United’s executive chefs have created a new menu or rotating dishes that will change approximately every three months, to offer guests a new experience on each United Polaris flight.

On December 1, United had a soft launch of its first United Polaris Lounge near Gate C18 at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The lounges are available exclusively to international premium cabin travelers, offering a selection of amenities including signature seating, a relaxation area and showers to help guests prepare for their flight. Additional lounges will open during 2017 in Houston, Los Angeles, New York/Newark, San Francisco, Washington-Dulles, Hong Kong, London Heathrow and Tokyo Narita.

The 777-300ER will start regularly scheduled service in February 2017. The December 21 departure marked the first of 14 777-300ER aircrafts United expects to place into service during 2017.
