Less than two months after announcing it would increase its second checked bag fee, United Airlines has flipped its policy and stated that it has canceled such plans. The fee for a first checked bag, however, will remain at $15 for a one-way fare.
The carrier is also offering a 20 percent discount on the first checked bag fee when customers pay on the carrier's website, beginning November 10 through January 31, 2009.
