ASTA and The Beat Partner on Research

ASTA and The Beat have announced a joint project to survey corporate travel agencies, the results of which will provide key data to corporate-oriented travel agencies to assist them in operations, ASTA reports. The study will provide groundbreaking data, ASTA says, noting that currently the available corporate travel research data is from the perspective of the business client rather than that of the travel management company.

“ASTA is very excited to work with The Beat to provide our corporate agency members, as well as the industry, with key data to help them succeed and grow. This project is a perfect fit with our mission:--‘Dedicated to the Business of Selling Travel’,” said Chris Russo ASTA president and chairman.

“We have been thinking for some time about how corporate travel agencies need better industry benchmarks, and were pleased to find that ASTA agreed,” said Jay Campbell, founder of The Beat and chief content officer at ProMedia.travel. “Our partnership is a natural. We look forward to examining the results of our joint study, and helping the business advance with improved market intelligence.”

ASTA and The Beat expect the study to provide insight into changes in distribution, economic norms, and technology use among corporate travel agencies in relation to the marketplace shift. Correspondingly, corporate-focused agencies will be able to use the results to pinpoint improvement opportunities as well as highlight areas where they excel.

Participation in the survey, which will close on Oct. 11, is open to all U.S. corporate travel agencies. Those that choose to participate will receive an enhanced executive summary of the results.
