Avianca and TACA Report an Increase in Passenger Numbers

The airlines that comprise Avianca and TACA reported an 11.9 percent increase in passenger numbers in June, compared to the same period in 2011. Nearly eleven million passengers were transported in the first six months of 2012, a rise of 13.8 percent compared to the first half of 2011.

Additionally, the Markets within Colombia, Peru and Ecuador saw improvement, with an 18.6 percent increase in number of passengers and a 24.8 increase in ASK capacity.

During June 2012, AviancaTaca Holding S.A. increased the number of passengers transported internationally by 3.9 percent compared to June 2011. The airlines transported a total of 10,910,928 passengers on domestic and international routes from January - June 2012.
