CCRA Forecasts 2012 Spring Travel Trends

Based on travel agent hotel bookings made through the CCRAtravel.com hotel reservations portal CCRA Travel Solutions announced the top five domestic and international spring travel destinations

According to the CCRAtravel.com statistics to-date, the following cities have received the highest number of hotel bookings from travel professionals for 2012 arrivals through May 2012:

The Top 5 U.S. Cities:

1. Las Vegas
2. Fort Lauderdale
3. Orlando
4. Miami
5. New Orleans

The Top 5 International Cities:

1. Rome
2. Barcelona
3. London
4. Paris
5. Toronto

All of these cities have made CCRA’s top five spring travel destinations list since 2010, except for the addition of New Orleans which has risen from CCRA’s 9th most booked city in the U.S. (in 2010) to the 5th most booked city this 2012 spring season.

These hotel booking trends suggest that consumers are planning warm-weather getaways in very popular spring break travel destinations in the U.S., and are predominantly seeking international travel to Europe this spring, CCRA reports.

Trending is based on transaction made by travel agents on CCRA’s proprietary booking platform, CCRAtravel.com, a hotel booking portal that offers agents real-time availability for up to five different rate categories on a single search at over 160,000 hotels worldwide.

Agents can choose the best option for each client from GDS rates, Promotional rates, Internet rates, Net rates and the 15 percent Enhanced Commission rate categories.

In addition, CCRA says agents can set their own commission by adding a mark-up to Net rates. All certified travel agents (who have valid travel ID’s, such as TRUE, IATA, CLIA or TIDS) can register on the CCRAtravel.com agent portal for free.

“CCRA’s booking engine gives us unique insight into the most current travel decisions that are driving travel agent business and can help us forecast future hotel booking trends,” said Dic Marxen, president and CEO of CCRA Travel Solutions. “
