CHPA Names Denver Businesswoman Kimberly Smith President

Corporate Housing Providers Association (CHPA)Denver businesswoman Kimberly Smith has been appointed president of trade association Corporate Housing Providers Association (CHPA) governing the corporate housing industry throughout North America. A serial entrepreneur, Smith co-founded two Denver-based companies, AvenueWest Global Franchise that offers fully furnished and serviced residential properties to meet corporate housing needs, and CorporateHousingbyOwner.com, which connects individual property owners with short-term renters. In her new position at CHPA, Smith will look toward expanding globally and plans to create new relationships and serve an expanded client base.

"The corporate housing industry projects major growth in 2011 due to the increased need for high-level talent. This demand will lead to a rise in relocations as well as an increase in business travel spend by 5 percent," Smith said. "This year's board will work closely with its various corporate housing member organizations to manage this demand and promote the corporate housing concept as a viable and preferable alternative lodging option."

Prior to her appointment, Smith has served as vice president and treasurer of the CHPA board. A volunteer for The Women's College at the University of Denver (DU), she was named among "Colorado's Top 25 Most Influential Young Professionals" by ColoradoBiz Magazine and an "Outstanding Woman in Business Finalist" by the Denver Business Journal.
