Las Vegas and Cancun, Mexico, are the top Labor Day travel destinations this year, according to a new survey from CheapOair, and many destinations are showing declines in airfare from last year as well.

CheapOair compiled its list of top ten domestic and international destinations for Labor Day travel based on its own bookings. Other popular vacation spots this year include Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Chicago

Many of the top destinations are unchanged from 2015, said Thomas Spagnola, senior vice president of supplier relations at CheapOair, and nine out of ten domestic destinations have a roundtrip fare of under $300.

Additionally, the lead time for bookings has decreased this year, with CheapOair’s data showing an increase in last-minute bookings within 10 to 20 days before the consumer’s travel dates due to a decrease in fares, Spagnola said.

Domestically, this year’s top city for Labor Day weekend travel is Las Vegas, with an average roundtrip ticket price of $280, which is down 3 percent from last year. Orlando and Denver are runner up and third place on the list, both decreasing almost 10 percent in price. Fort Lauderdale had the lowest prices available, with a roundtrip flight priced at $229, which is a 39 percent price decrease from last year.
