Celebrating 80 was never so grand as New York's own landmark hotel, The Pierre, celebrated its anniversary on Friday, October 1. Overlooking Central Park, the hotel commemorated the occassion in grand style, featuring a cake by celebrated creator Sylvia Weinstock.
Through October 1, the Taj property invites guests to be a part of the festivities with The Pierre 80-Year Jubilee Package. Away from the Signature Room or Executive Suite, a chariot will carry guests through Central Park, accompanied by a seasonal basket of treats. Then, two City Passes will grant access to the city's most prominent landmarks and experiences, including an exclusive tour of the Metropolitan Museum, with a private docent.
Specializing in a service of a completely different fashion, Questex Media Group's Travel Agent magazine rings in its 80th anniversary as well. Reaching over 51,000 professionals throughout the travel community, the magazine's December 6th issue will feature a festive tribute to the industry and entertaining editorial content that celebrates the past 80 years. Two days later, December 8, in Las Vegas, the magazine will mark its anniversary at a party at the 2010 Luxury Travel Expo, attended by thousands of luxury travel advisors and suppliers.
