Solo travel was the next most popular option, followed by a trip with a spouse or partner and a vacation with the family.

When it comes to going it alone or booking with a group trip, many Millennial travelers said they prefer a mix of the two. 46 percent said that they like to travel independently but book some tours at the destination, while 35 percent like a set itinerary with plenty of blocked out free time. 14 percent indicated they fly solo exclusively, while only 6 percent opt for organized tours all the time.

The Topdeck Travel study surveyed 31,000 people under 39 from 134 different countries.
