Travel Leaders Corporate: Clients’ Ticket Prices Lower

business travelerTravel Leaders Corporate’s clients paid less for international and domestic airline ticket prices than the national average, the company reports. Travel Leaders Corporate released its clients’ second quarter booking data for 2014 and said when compared to Topaz International’s Monthly Airfare Index from June 2014, year-to-date, are lower.

The latest findings also offer insights into hotel bookings and pricing trends for the top 10 U.S. business travel destinations, Travel Leaders Corporate said.

When compared to Topaz International’s Monthly Airfare Index from June 2014, year-to-date, Travel Leaders Corporate said it was able to secure lower priced international and domestic airline tickets for its corporate travel clients than the national average. Average ticket price on domestic tickets was $450 year to date for Travel Leaders Corporate and $600 national average while international ticket price for TLC was $1,674 compared to $2,832 national average.

Travel Leaders Corporate said its data and trends also revealed that in the second quarter of this year, the average nightly rate of a domestic hotel room was $150, while the average nightly rate of an international hotel room was $209. Meanwhile, among the top 10 most booked U.S. business travel destinations, year-to-date, the average nightly rate was $199.

When breaking down the various components of a business traveler’s trip, Travel Leaders Corporate said the data indicates the following:

  • The average daily rate of an international car rental remained flat at $50 in the second quarter of 2014 as compared to the first quarter of 2014. The average daily rate of a domestic car rental increased by 3 percent to $43 during the same time period.
  • The average international trip cost increased 4 percent to $2,514 during the second quarter of 2014 as compared to the first quarter of 2014. The average domestic trip cost increased 3 percent to $1,001 during the same time period.
