Air prices may be up this summer travel season, but for clients looking for a bargain getaway, TripAdvisor has released its list of Top 10 Least Expensive U.S. Cities as part of its TripIndex. For the fourth year in a row, Las Vegas led the way.

ARC reports that the consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by U.S.-based travel agencies rose 4.73 percent year-over-year in the first five months of 2014 compared to the same period last year, totaling $40.8 billion versus $39 billion in 2013.

While security lines and checked-bag fees are common complaints about air travel, the U.S. Travel Association says that passengers’ main concern is flight delays and cancellations, according to a survey conducted by the independent firm ResearchNow.


Millennial Travelers Want Connections, Value-Add Perks

Chase Card Services recently conducted a survey of more than 1,000 18-67-year-olds who stayed in a hotel at least five nights per year for business, pleasure or both. The study found that Millennials—generally defined as people born between 1980 and 2000—are more likely than older travelers to seek out hotels with luxury services such as dry cleaning (32 percent), massage or spa services (30 percent) and pet-friendliness (23 percent). Furthermore, the survey shows Millennial travelers are more likely to say it’s a ‘deal breaker’ if a hotel is not near public transportation (19 percent).
