World Air Travel Still Down for 2009

Air travel is down worldwide for the ninth month in a row, according to statistics from aviation data business OAG, reports The Business Review.

North America's air travel dropped 9 percent, Europe's dropped 8 and Latin America, faring slightly better, dropped 6.4 percent.

The report also notes that the world's airlines have scheduled 6 percent fewer flights for this month when compared to April of 2008.

The numbers are based on a reduction of over 136,000 flights and 9 million seats, year-to-year.
