Major Spa Changes Expected for Regent Palms in Turks & Caicos

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos -- During our ongoing coverage of the Regent Palms in Turks and Caicos, Travel Agent got the scoop on some major developments to the Regent Spa, which is arguably the resort's biggest draw.

General Manager Karen S. Whitt says the 25,000-square-foot spa can expect a new bistro selling health food as well as other additions to the spa menu with hopes of making the spa a full day experience for clients.

Spa consultant Deborah J. Waldvogel, director of spa development and operations for Sedona Resorts, told us there will be a full re-branding of the spa that could call for a name change and a heavier Asian and Indian influence on the menu. New treatments will be added, the spa staff will be doubled and the yoga studio will be moved. The current yoga station will be moved to the fitness center. The current yoga space will then be used for a new bistro serving health food. That plan is expected to get rolling around September. The spa will not need to be closed. The new location of the fitness center has not been decided yet.

The changes are just one of three major projects expected at the hotel. The breakfast area will also be moved and enhanced and a new beach bar is expected as well.

Once the new spa changes are in place, Waldvogel says agents will need to book treatments for clients at least two weeks in advance. She says plans are in the works to book treatments online as well.
