Looks like the UK might get a White Christmas after all: The BBC is reporting that London's City Airport's runway was closed between 12:20 p.m. GMT and 2 p.m. GMT, causing delays and one flight cancellation. Some flights to and from Heathrow and Gatwick Airports were delayed.

South London's Tramlink was suspended between Therapia Lane and Mitcham due to power supply problems.

Forecasters are predicting up to two inches of snow in the capital over the weekend.

There were delays on the Eurostar and National Express East Anglia trains and to the London Overground.

Another report  described "treacherous conditions" on Scottish roads in the Highlands and in the Northeast section of the country.

Up to a foot of snow fell in some areas of Wales and speed restrictions were implemented on the M4. Meanwhile, Northern Ireland had its heaviest snowfall in 25 years, according to meteorologists. London Mayor Boris Johnson told BBC London the capital's roads were prepared for more snow.
