Alex Tonarelli Becomes General Manager at Loews Miami Beach Hotel

Loews Miami Beach Hotel has named Alex Tonarelli as the hotel's new General Manager.  

Tonarelli has been part of the Loews team since December 2000 when he started as Director of Sales. He then became Director of Rooms where he received the Loews Hotels Star Service Award as well as the Gold Key Award for the company. Tonarelli worked his way up to Hotel Manager where he oversaw all aspects of rooms, food & beverage, retail, engineering and partner relations. He led the team through a $50 million renovation which included all guestrooms and retail outlets, public spaces and the state-of-the-art poolside cabanas which will all be making their debut this June. Tonarelli was also the mastermind behind the Lowes Miami Beach Hotel's first annual Celebrity Golf Tournament, which raised more than $75,000 for www.donorschoose.org in its first year.

As General Manager, Tonarelli's responsibilities will include directing all hotel operations, sales and marketing efforts, human resources and revenue management.

Tonarelli has served as chair of the Miami Beach Director of Sales Task Force, as a board member of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau's Visitor Industry Council and as an adjunct professor at Miami Dade Community College. Tonarelli's past hospitality experience includes Associate Director of Resort Sales and Director of Sales at the Doral Golf and Spa Resort in Miami, Florida and he began his career at the Fontainebleau Hilton as a Manager in both Operations and Sales.
