The Cool Pool of the Week: The Palms Hotel & Spa in Miami Beach

Millennials vacationing to Miami Beach, Florida, should check out the The Palms Hotel & Spa for a unique pool experience where guests can enjoy views of towering bamboo, tropical plants and even a parrot or two.

Surrounded by a tropical landscaping, the pool is the perfect place to lounge. But perhaps the coolest part of this pool are the nearby Tiki cabanas that are available for day rental. They are furnished with two lounge chairs and a table, as well as privacy curtains.

Tiki cabanas at The Palms Hotel & Spa come with 22-inch LED TVs with DirecTV.

Tiki cabanas include wireless Internet, 22-inch LED TVs with DirecTV, an iPod docking station, an icebox, one large bottle of Evian and one large bottle of Badoit (sparkling). The cost is $125 per day. Agents looking to book a cabana for a client in advance should e-mail [email protected]

Before calling it a day, don’t forget to stop by the towel stand to say hello to "Sunshine" and "Chance," the Palms’ resident macaws.

Also, just behind the pool lies Essensia’s Organic Chef’s Garden, totaling 750 square feet and just one of many green initiatives by the Palms. Homegrown herbs and veggies make their way into the property’s selection of “conscious cocktails” - also made with organic spirits.

Additional property highlights includes a menu of locally sourced, global cuisine at Essensia Restaurant & Lounge and a wide variety of holistic treatments and rituals at the AVEDA luxury lifestyle spa, which makes for a great girls getaway.

Every Tuesday, guests enjoy the Tiki Bar for just a little longer with great food and drink specials until 9 p.m. Otherwise, The Palms’ signature eatery, Essensia Restaurant offers a seasonal selection of wholesome cuisine for breakfast, lunch, Sunday brunch (a la carte) and dinner daily. The restaurant works with local farmers and carefully selected purveyors to provide healthful and flavorful dishes presented in a fresh, sophisticated style.

Just adjacent to the pool, the Grand Tiki can be booked for private events. It is located amidst tropical gardens and otherwise used for The Palms’ “Namaste in Nature” yoga program).
