The Breakers Palm Beach
The Breakers Palm Beach has an array of suites for honeymooners in the 500-1,700 square feet range.

After the cake has been eaten and the bouquet tossed, it’s time for couples to settle down—for the next 50 years together. Why not start your clients’ new lives off with a fantastic first night? Picking the right wedding or honeymoon suite for the newlyweds is not easy—you are setting the tone for many more nights to come. We suggest starting with Florida, whose warm weather and beautiful beaches are as romantic as it gets. Here are five wedding/honeymoon suites that we think will make an ideal setting for a couple’s first night together.

The Inn on Fifth in Naples is one of Florida’s prime hotels for destination weddings, with poolside terraces and spacious ballrooms that can accommodate a range of wedding styles. But those couples who opt for a wedding elsewhere will find The Inn on Fifth perfect for a romantic first night together.

Oceanfront balcony
These suites boast a living room and an oceanfront balcony.

The Inn’s Terrace Suite is the one recommended for newlyweds and honeymooners. Each of the four Terrace Suites is 550 square feet and opens onto large balcony terraces that overlook Fifth Avenue. The bedroom comes with a king bed and the living room with a pullout sofa, writing desk and flat-screen TV. Be sure to ask for a Terrace Suite with a Jacuzzi; only two of the four have one.

The Inn on Fifth raises the romance bar for new couples. Lovebirds can begin their day with breakfast in bed, complete with champagne for a toast. Ask about arranging simultaneous massages at the onsite Spa on Fifth for later in the day.

The Palms Hotel & Spa
The pick of the accommodations at The Palms Hotel & Spa are the two One-Bedroom Suites.

The hotel is centrally located in Old Naples, steps away from shopping, dining galleries and jewelry stores.

Contact Sandy Lacefield (239-280-2705; [email protected]), director of catering, with questions.

When your enamored clients head down to Miami Beach (a top destination for honeymooners), we recommend pointing them toward The Palms Hotel & Spa. The Palms has two one-bedroom suites complete with living room and oceanfront balcony. The bathrooms in the suites are spa-inspired and have all-new fixtures, including a rain showerhead and aqua-colored mosaic tiles.

All rooms boast Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and an iPod alarm clock radio. A fully stocked private bar and Aveda bath products are also available.

For clients who want to take it a step further and have their nuptials on site, The Palms has several top-notch facilities. The colonial-style wedding gazebo and private wedding lawn is ideal for an outdoor ceremony. Other facilities include the Veranda Terrace, Royal Palm Room, which can accommodate up to 200 people, and The Queen Palm Room, for a gathering of up to 100. The Palms caters to each couple’s particular need, tailoring the ceremony to individual tastes and styles.

Newlyweds and honeymooners celebrating on the Gulf Coast should opt for the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa. The property’s 900-square-foot one-bedroom suite comes with a 42-inch LCD TV; fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a full refrigerator, dishwasher, range and dining table; plus sweeping views of the Gulf from the balconies. Tip: This room category is going for 30 percent off through December 30.

Book VIP clients into the Presidential Suite, which consists of two bedrooms and two balconies.

The resort also has all the elements for a customized wedding, whether your clients are looking for beachside nuptials or a ballroom ceremony and reception. The 250-room hotel has six function space choices, but agents should inquire about the Belleair Room, which is the most requested. This 1,800-square-foot ballroom has floor-to-ceiling windows and an outdoor terrace that overlooks the Gulf. The Promenade on the beach, with 5,000 square feet of covered, outdoor space is another option.

Agents can contact General Manager Brian Kramer (727-373-1234; [email protected]).

For your clients headed into the Tampa area, we recommend The InterContinental. At this property, the Presidential Suite is ideal for romantic travelers. Filling up its 1,017 square feet, are a king-sized bedroom, large living room, two bathrooms, a walk-in closet and a meeting table that can accommodate between eight and 10 people.

Built into the property is 17,000 square feet of meeting space. The Bayshore Grand Ballroom can host up to 500 guests, with two spacious atriums available for pre-reception cocktails. The Westshore Room, ideal for intimate gatherings, can accommodate up to 75 guests. For an even more cozy celebration, we recommend the Hillsborough Room, with space for just 10.

In idyllic Palm Beach, we suggest booking a suite at The Breakers, one of the region’s most exclusive and romantic resorts.

The Oceanfront Suites
The Oceanfront Suites at The Breakers Palm Beach are those that seem to “sit” on the water.

We are told that The Breakers Palm Beach has a wide selection of suites for honeymooners, ranging from 500 to 1,700 square feet. The most requested are those that extend over the water and have step-out balconies. These rooms include Oceanfront Suites, Junior Oceanfront Suites, Premium Oceanfront Suites and more. The most expansive and luxurious are the Imperial Suites and Royal Poinciana Suites, measuring at 1,700 square feet and 1,250 square feet, respectively.

The Imperial Suite has a king bed in the master bedroom, spacious master bathroom, six-seat dining area, five separate step-out balconies, and a full sound system and personal concierge services to boot. The Royal Poinciana Suite comes with a king bed, private living room, wet bar, guest half bathroom, six-seat dining area, three step-out balconies, personal concierge and a high-tech sound system.

Some of The Breakers Palm Beach’s amenities specifically cater to discerning romantic travelers. There are two distinct pool and beach experiences, one of which especially suits couples with a 2,200-square-foot luxury Relaxation Pool. This area has two whirlpool spas and a 6,000-square-foot pool deck. Surrounding the pool is a host of private beach bungalows, outfitted with private open-sky shower, spa products, flat-screen TVs, DVD players, Wi-Fi and more. Ask the Bungalow Concierge about arranging a customized candlelit dinner or spa treatments.

Clients who have not yet tied the knot may consider The Breakers Palm Beach for a destination wedding. It boasts state-of-the-art wedding facilities, and guests can choose from casually elegant, chic or palatial surroundings, with the ocean space for a rehearsal dinner. The resort is also outfitted with spacious ballrooms, each with a distinct personality. The outdoor courtyards and the 6,000-square-foot rooftop terrace are also ideal for brunches or ceremonies.
