Veterans Retreat, Inc., a new non-profit organization that aims to enrich the lives of Americans returning wounded from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, will sponsor in Miami Beach deep-sea fishing trips and other outdoor activities vets enjoyed prior to serving in the war.

The founder of Veterans Retreat Inc., Tim Suereth, said in a statement: "Our Miami Beach location affords us a unique opportunity to provide emotionally healing and physically challenging recreational and educational experiences to those who are most in need of a little encouragement, success and happiness."

Along with deep-sea fishing trips, the non-profit organization sponsors sailing instruction, scuba diving certification, introductory flight instruction courses and more. These healing retreats are provided at no cost to participants and are funded entirely by contributions from individual and corporate sponsors.

Interested veterans can sign-up for a March 14 deep-sea fishing trip and other future retreats at http://veteransretreat.com/activities
