TradeWinds Island Resorts Welcomes New Appointees

The TradeWinds Island Resorts on St. Pete Beach, Fla. has announced two new appointees whose responsibilities will center on catering and convention services and leisure activities.

George Bentley has been named as director of catering and convention services. In this position, Bentley will supervise a staff of eight employees in overseeing the meeting and banquet facilities at both resort properties: the Island Grand Resort and the Sandpiper Suites.  

With more than 23 years of service experience in the food and beverage industry, Bentley recently had been director of food and beverage at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort.

He has also worked as director of event management for the Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg, Fla. and director of conference services for the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens.

Bentley was previously employed with TradeWinds as director of catering/convention services from 1994-1999. He was named Corporate Manager of the Year in 1998.

Bentley earned a degree in hospitality management from Florida State University. He is a certified meeting professional and a member of the National Association of Catering Executives Gulf Coast Chapter.

TradeWinds Island Resorts also has appointed Tyler Prince as the new director of activities. Prince is responsible for coordinating all leisure activities, including the supervised children’s club, and for organizing corporate teambuilding events.

Prior to this position, Prince worked in the front office of the Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club and was recreation director for the Don CeSar Beach Resort on St. Pete Beach. A native of Kansas City, Prince received a degree in hospitality and restaurant administration from Missouri State University.
