Hale Koa Hotel Embarks on $50 Million Refurbishment

The 817-room Hale Koa Hotel in Waikiki has begun a $50 million renovation to upgrade 420 guest rooms in the Ilima Tower, and the hotel’s Banyan Tree Showroom, main lobby and main kitchen. This is the first major renovation project for the hotel since it opened in 1975. 

Construction will be scheduled several floors at a time and the hotel will continue to welcome guests. Work on the Ilima Tower guest rooms is expected to be completed by August 2008, while the overall project should be finished by March 2009. The guest rooms of the Maile Tower, built in 1995, will not be part of the project. Visit
