Hawaiian Airlines Reaches Tentative Accord with Flight Attendants’ Union

February 27, 2009 By: Mark Rogers

Hawaiian Airlines has reached a tentative agreement with the Association of
Flight Attendants
(AFA-CWA) on a new two-year contract that would provide increased compensation for its flight attendants and operational improvements for the company.

“One of our core objectives is to find ways to improve the standard of living of our employees at Hawaiian,” says Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiian’s president and CEO. “The ability to work collaboratively with the AFA-CWA as we all face the worst recession in the last 50 years has enabled us to reach an agreement that will actually increase pay for our valued flight attendants while helping to improve the performance of our company.”

The tentative agreement is subject to ratification by the company’s flight attendants, who are expected to vote on the proposal in the coming weeks.
