Hawaiian Hotels & Resorts Promotes Tom Bell to President

Hawaiian Hotels & Resorts (HH&R) has promoted Tom Bell to president. Previously, Bell had served as vice president of operations since 2007.

In his new position Bell will be responsible for oversight of the company’s day-to-day performance and strategic planning.

Before he joined HH&R in 2005, Bell managed the Royal Hawaiian Hotel on Oahu, which was named Starwood’s “Hotel of the Year” for the Hawaii and French Polynesia region while he was there. He has also served as general manager of the W Honolulu, Diamond Head and as the resident manager of the Hotel Edgewater in Seattle, WA.

Bell serves as a director on the board of Guenoc Wine Inc., director / secretary of the Kaanapali (Resort) Operations Association, director / vice president of the Kaanapali Beach Resort Association and director of the Maui Hotel and Lodging Association. He is also on the Advisory Board of the Maui College Hospitality Academy and lectures at the University of Hawaii’s TIM School, at the Executive Development Institute for Tourism and at the Chaminade University Hogan Entrepeneurial Program.
