In anticipation of increased inter-island travel during the busy Labor Day weekend, Island Air has added flights to Kahului and Kona.
On Saturday, September 3, the airline will offer three additional roundtrips between Honolulu and Kahului and one additional roundtrip between Honolulu and Kona.
Island Air previously added seasonal flights to Kahului and Kona to meet increased demand for summer travel.
With the latest additions, Island Air will offer the following flights during Labor Day weekend: nine roundtrips between Honolulu and Kahului on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 2, 3 and 4; six roundtrips between Honolulu and Kona on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 2, 3 and 4; and six roundtrips daily between Honolulu and Lihue.
“The Labor Day weekend is traditionally a busy time for inter-island travel and we want to provide convenient options for kamaaina and visitors to enjoy an Island getaway over the extended holiday,” said David Uchiyama, president and chief executive officer of Island Air, in a written release.
