Hawaiian’s New ‘Wedding Wings’ Program

Hawaiian Airlines is giving couples planning a wedding or civil union ceremony even more reason to choose Hawaii for their special day with the savings and convenience offered by its new online Wedding Wings program.

Registration in the program is free (www.hawaiianairlines.com/programs/wedding-wings) and offered as a value-added benefit to members of HawaiianMiles, Hawaiian’s frequent flyer program, which is free and easy to join.

Couples that register for the Wedding Wings program automatically receive a 10 percent savings on round-trip airfare to Hawaii for their wedding or civil union ceremony from any of the 21 domestic and international gateway cities Hawaiian currently serves. They can then, in turn, offer all of their invited guests a 5 percent savings on their round-trip airfare.

Registered couples are provided with a host of new and expanded interactive resources to help organize travel for their Hawai‘i destination ceremony, starting with access to a secure travel portal that they can personalize with their own messages and photos and share with family and friends. MLT Vacations Offers Unique Wedding Sites in Hawaii

Travel Agent recently sat down with Jana Lavell, regional sales manager for MLT Vacations, and learned of a special wedding offering by the Minnesota-based tour operator. The company’s Destination Weddings program, which started about two years ago, provides clients the opportunity to get married in select, off-resort sites. MLT offers five sites on Oahu and four sites on Maui, all at locations that are outside of the clients’ resort.

The most popular of the offerings, Lavell says, is a floating lagoon wedding site on Oahu. The Floating Lagoon Chapel Wedding includes assistance obtaining a marriage license; a Christian or nondenominational ceremony; a roundtrip limo service to/from Waikiki hotel and chapel for up to six people; professional photography coverage for one hour with a CD and online hosting; sparkling cider or champagne toast for the couple with keepsake flutes; Hawaiian orchid leis and more.
