Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Sponsors Ke Kani O Ke Kai 2013 Summer Concert Series

hawaii concertThe music will crank up at the 2013 Ke Kani O Ke Kai summer concert series at the Waikiki Aquarium, presented by Outrigger Hotels and Resorts and offering live performances by some of Hawaii’s most popular performers.

According to Dr. Chuck Kelley, chairman of the board of Outrigger Enterprises Group, Outrigger believes in the importance of sharing the diverse elements of Hawaii’s history and culture with both visitors and kama`aina.

To make this vision a reality, Outrigger avidly supports local musicians, entertainers, dancers and artists who hone their craft locally, by giving them the opportunity to share their talents through sponsored events like the Ke Kani O Ke Kai concert series, or though cultural guest activities offered at a number of Outrigger properties across the state.

This summer, Ke Kani O Ke Kai will treat music lovers to a series of amazing live performances under the stars at the Waikiki Aquarium. The concerts kickes off on June 13 and run every other Thursday through August 8.

The 2013 Ke Kani O Ke Kai line-up of performers includes:

•         June 13 – John Cruz and Nathan Aweau

•         June 27 – KUmZ and Manu Boyd

•         July 11 – Mark Yamanaka and Darren Benitez

•         July 25 – Amy Hanaiali‘i and Hi‘ikula

•         August 8 – Makaha Sons


Kani Ka Pila Grille, the poolside restaurant at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach, will be the restaurant vendor at the kickoff Ke Kani O Ke Kai concert on June 13, providing delicious food for concert attendees. Many island residents are already familiar with this popular restaurant as home to live island music nightly, showcasing some of Hawaii’s most legendary musicians, hot new local talent and island artists of international renown.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for each Ke Kani O Ke Kai concert, with performances taking place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Concert attendees are welcome to explore the Waikiki Aquarium galleries, which will remain open throughout the evening.
