Waikiki Parc Introduces New Student Art Exhibition

waikiki parc hotelWaikiki Parc Hotel, the intimate boutique hotel just steps away from Waikiki Beach, recently announced that it partnered with the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM) to present the work of Tonia Moreno now through May 30.

A recent graduate from the Department of Art and Art History at UHM, Moreno presents her glass sculptures Aura’s Whisper and Milk and Metal at the hotel’s Parc Promenade Gallery.

Intended to promote up-and-coming art students and recent graduates, Waikiki Parc features four student art exhibitions per year. The exhibitions are of part of an expanded partnership with UHM and Waikiki Parc’s parent company, Halekulani Corporation. Moreno is the third up-and-coming young artist to be featured in a solo exhibition at Waikiki Parc Hotel.

Waikiki Parc Hotel’s dedication to the arts includes Parc Access, providing hotel guests with complimentary entry to Honolulu’s elite art and cultural destinations, the Bishop Museum and Honolulu Museum of Art. The hotel is also home to the world-class restaurant, Nobu Waikiki. Hotel guests are also encouraged to take advantage of signing privileges at Halekulani.

Moreno was born and raised in California, and earned associate degrees in glass and liberal arts and sciences at Palomar College in San Marcos, California, in 2008. Continuing her education, she enrolled at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus in glass in 2013.
