The Downtown Grand Las Vegas Hotel & Casino has opened its new PICNIC rooftop pool for hotel guests and locals.
Designed to be reminiscent of a '50s pool oasis, the new area will offer live entertainment and film screenings throughout the year, an infinity pool and opportunities for picnics on the grass or at communal tables. Guests can also enjoy cocktails or play blackjack outdoors.

“PICNIC is a fun, eclectic space, designed to be the only one of its kind in Las Vegas,” says Seth Schorr, chief executive officer, Downtown Grand. “There is a very unique feel to PICNIC. We’ve mixed nostalgia with modern-day touches and features such as communal picnic tables and a relaxed vibe. At PICNIC, we want our guests to feel like they’re genuinely part of a community.”
There are 15 cabanas, which may be rented by both registered hotel guests and locals. The cabanas come equipped with misters, day beds, lounge chairs, couches and a large table. The standard cabana fits up to 12 guests, with Grand Cabanas accommodating up to 20. Cabana pricing begins with a food and beverage minimum of $150. Onsite guests can reserve a cabana through the Downtown Grand’s concierge located in the hotel’s main lobby.
The lunch menu has a variety of starter snacks (PICNIC’s signature Garlic Edamame & Edamame Dip); outdoor dining dishes (hand-tossed pizza made from scratch and the OMG Picnic Burger with grilled tomato, bacon, shallot aioli, fried onion, house made pickles and cheese) and desserts (house-spun ice cream and gelato served with biscotti).
For special events, including corporate and incentive parties, weddings, receptions, live entertainment events and more, PICNIC can accommodate 1,200 guests for a reception and 1,500 for a concert event. Buy-outs of PICNIC for private use by groups are also available.
PICNIC is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily; lunch is available 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and located on the 3rd floor of Downtown Grand’s Casino Tower.
Nevada residents may experience PICNIC with valid identification for a fee of $15 to $25 per person, per day.
