The Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, downtown Las Vegas' oldest hotel, is celebrating its first major renovation in fifty years.

The Golden Gate first opened as the Hotel Nevada in 1906. The hotel hosted a major block party along the Fremont Street Experience, to mark the end of a $15 million expansion.
The new 35,000-square-foot, five-story property drew inspiration from its past to give the lobby and suites a new look. There's also an expanded casino and a special area for high-rollers.
Two vintage-showgirl-inspire penthouses encompasses the entire fifth floor. An expanded casino floor features a new 1920s flapper-inspired high-limit gaming room, complemented by Golden Gate's playful dancing dealers.
The building’s old structure has been restored with the addition of a modern digital marquee and contemporary LED lighting accents representing pinstripes from the 1920s. Golden Gate’s new porte-cochere offers the most convenient parking in downtown Las Vegas.
Guests can choose from three dining areas including OneBar, Flair Bar and Du-par's Restaurant and Bakery, which is open 24 hours a day. It is famous for serving up a giant shrimp cocktail for just under $3.
