MICHELIN UNVEILS FIRST
Vegas Guide, With Star Ratings for Restaurants
One hundred and twenty-seven restaurants are featured in Michelin Las Vegas 2008, the first volume on Vegas ever published by the prestigious French travel guides. Las Vegas joins New York, San Francisco and L.A. as the only U.S. cities to be written up by the 107-year-old Michelin guides. Three stars, the top rating, were awarded to Joël Robuchon (pictured) at MGM Grand (www.mgmgrand.com). Picasso at Bellagio (www.bellagio.com), Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace (www.harrahs.com) and Alex at Wynn Las Vegas (www.wynnlasvegas.com) all received two stars. Restaurants getting one star include Alizé at The Palms (www.palms.com), André's Downtown, Aureole and miX at Mandalay Bay (www.mandalaybay.com), Bradley Ogden and Mesa Grill at Caesars Palace, Daniel Boulud Brasserie and Wing Lei at Wynn, L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon at MGM Grand, Le Cirque and Michael Mina at Bellagio, and Nobu at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (www.hardrockhotel.com). Thirty hotels are also featured in the book. 
Hawaiian Tropic Zone
Debuts at Planet Hollywood
Hawaiian Tropic Zone, a dining and entertainment venue, opened last month within the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. It has a multi-tiered dining room, catwalk stage, full bar and a two-story waterfall.
Hawaiian Tropic models acting as "table concierges" serve diners and participate in nightly beauty pageants at the restaurant. Costume designer Nicole Miller and world-famous chef David Burke have collaborated on Las Vegas' Hawaiian Tropic Zone.

M RESORT PLANS
'09 Opening, With Strip Panoramas
The M Resort, Spa and Casino is scheduled to open in Vegas in the spring of 2009, on 80 acres of land at the southeast corner of St. Rose Parkway and Las Vegas Boulevard. The 11-story hotel will feature 390 rooms
and suites, 90,000 square feet of gaming and more than 40,000 square feet of meeting and conference space. A variety of luxury amenities including a state-of-the-art, 20,000-square-foot spa, as well as multiple restaurants and entertainment venues, will also be part of the resort. The M property will be situated 400 feet higher in elevation than the resort casinos on The Strip, providing picture-perfect views of the Vegas skyline.
