Las Vegas Gets Ready to Celebrate Mexican Independence Day

Las Vegas is gearing up for Mexican Independence day with a roster of Latin performers and a range of festivities. With Vegas being the most popular destination for Mexican travelers, the city is anticipating an influx of more than 300,000 visitors in honor of El Grito.

Scheduled Performers that will take to the stage include:

Marco Antonio Solís at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on September 12

Salsa artist Marc Anthony at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on September 13.

World-famous Arturo Sandoval brings the Cuban-Caribbean sounds of his jazz trumpet to The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, September 13.

Latin music superstar Luis Miguel at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, September 12-15.

Comedian Gabriel Iglesias at The Mirage Resort & Casino, Septemeber 12-14.

Mexican mariachi singer Alejandro Fernández will perform at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino on September 14.

Los Angeles-based punk band, Mariachi El Bronx, will play The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on September 15, preceding the Grito Mexicano ceremony at midnight.

Additional events include a face-off between boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.and former WBA welterweight champion and Argentine boxer, Marcos Maidana II, in a rematch at the MGM Garden Arena on September 13 and the Fiesta Las Vegas Latino Parade & Festival, Southern Nevada’s largest Latino parade and festival on September 13 and 14th. There will also be a midnight ringing of the bell to welcome EL Grito on September 15. Guests will have the chance to toast to the celebration with some of the events performers including mariachi and folkloric dancers

Vegas will also play host to a range of culinary experiences to celebrate the day. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’s STK will be offering a special tequila basil cocktail known as the “Basil'rita” through September 16. While the Buffet at ARIA Resort & Casino will serve a special brunch 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and gourmet dinner starting at 3:30 p.m., September 12–16 with all-you-can-drink premium beverages available alongside endless Margaritas.
