Mandalay Bay Welcomes First Beer Weekend

Las Vegas’s Mandalay Bay is to hosts its first ever Beer Weekend. This three-day event will feature a range of culinary experiences, a craft beer panel discussion, a beer brunch and the main event, a beer festival. Created by Mandalay Bay Director of Food & Beverage and Nevada’s first female certified cicerone Sarah Johnson, this special beer weekend will take place from September 12-14.

The event kicks off Friday September 12 at 7.30pm with a brewmasters dinner at miX restaurant. This five-course feast will be hosted by Johnson, Matt Brynildson of Firestone Walker and Garrett Oliver of Brooklyn Brewery. Each course will be served along with a beer from one of these breweries and will be presented by the brewers as they discuss the detailed notes of each selection along with the reasoning behind the pairing. Tickets priced at $225 per-person, all-inclusive.

A craft beer revolution panel discussion will take place in the Eyecandy Lounge Saturday 3.pm-4pm. The event will be hosted by Sarah Johnson and feature Brooklyn Brewery co-founder Steve Hindy. The panel will be followed by a book signing of Hindy’s ‘The Craft Beer Revolution’. Books will be available for purchase for $20 all-inclusive. Entrance to the event is free and seating is limited to the first 100 attendees.

The weekend’s main event is the Beer Festival at the Mandalay Bay Beach. There will be live entertainment, samples of the country’s best beers from breweries such as Goose Island, Lagunitas and Ballast Point, as well as cuisine provided by MGM Resorts International’s top chefs. Tickets are priced at $75 per-person, all-inclusive

The festivities will close with a ‘Beer for Breakfast’ event hosted by celebrity chef Hubert Keller. Guests will be able to choose dishes from a special brunch menu which will be paired with selection of beers.
